Gold is a heavy, precious, yellow, metallic
element, and has a symbol of Au, an atomic
number of 79, and a relative atomic mass
number of 197.0. For manufacture, gold is
alloyed with another strenthening metal (such
as copper or silver, its purity being
measured in carats on a scale of 24. Gold has
long been valued for its durability,
malleability, and ductility, and its uses
include dentistry, jewellery, and electronic
devices.
